子供が何故新型インフルで死ぬのか？ [独白]
★海外でも日本でも、子供が新型インフルエンザにかかり、重傷化、果ては死に至る事態が相次いでいる。ついに東京都など1部の自治体で、12月の予定を前倒しして、健康な子供達にワクチンの接種をさせる病院が現われた。
★子供が新型インフルエンザ（H1N1株）に罹ると、持病のない子でもあっという間に重症化し、果ては脳炎に罹って死ぬ場合が多い。
★しかし、ナゼそうなのか、と、このところずっと考えていたが、ひとつの理由として、体内の免疫機能の低さにあるのではないか、そう思い至った。しかし、カンのイイ人達なら、うすうすそれに気づいてはいるのだろうけれど・・・。
★人間は、小さな頃から、あまりにも清潔過ぎる環境で育つと、雑菌や病原菌に対する免疫力や抵抗力が弱くなる傾向にあるのかもしれない。そういえば…最近、子供を雑菌に触れさせたくないからと、わざわざ除菌ティッシュや消毒液で、子供の手を拭いている親が結構多くなっている。あれは如何考えても、子供の雑菌や病原菌に対する抵抗力を結果的に弱めているように思えてならない。
★少なくとも、日本が近代化への道をひた走り始めた、明治・大正の頃から、清潔志向は強まりだしたのであろう。コレラやスペイン風邪など、疫病が流行った時代でもあり、ソレゆえ衛生や清潔に対して、人々の関心が強まって行ったのだろう。気がついたら21世紀になっていて、周りを見たら清潔・除菌グッズばかりに囲まれていた…。
★そうした清潔・除菌グッズに囲まれているうちに、子供達の免疫機能は、少なくともここ100年で脆弱化してしまった。だから、これといった持病もないのに、新型インフルに罹るとあっという間に重症化し、死んでしまう子供達が増えてしまったのに違いない。
★適当に清潔な環境にいれば、人間の免疫や抵抗力にもさほどの影響は少ないのかもしれない。しかし、度の越えた清潔・潔癖な環境で育ってしまえば、どんな人間だって雑菌や病原菌などの免疫機能が弱くなって行ってしまう。
★雑菌や病原菌に神経過敏になりすぎてはいけない。やはり適当に「汚い環境」があったほうが、人間は免疫力や抵抗力が強まって行くものだ、と思う。
